For windows users, probably familiar to us to grapple with the virus, a computer virus is a program sebenernya mini-destructive nature, he is generally spread through, internet, email, floppy disk (old age), cd, and even flash (trendsetters spread) . So how do we choose the right antivirus for protection?

I actually do not have the right anti virus to protect you from virus attacks, anti-virus because each has advantages and disadvantages of each, such as current local antivirus (PCMAV, Norman) more able to handle local viruses (Brontok and his friends) rather than external antivirus (Avast, NOD32, AVG etc). Running two or more anti-virus programs on the computer too burdensome even computer performance. So the first treatment to prevent viral entry is:

Turn off autorun on every drive, the virus usually include a autorun.inf file so that when the flash is entered into computer files automatically run the virus, and infect a computer.
Always use the application to open the file, not where they clicked 2 times on a file, suppose you want to open a text file (*. txt), you first open the Notepad or WordPad application, then the file menu, click Open and navigate to a text file that will opened. This way is more secure than the guaranteed direct you double-click on the file will be opened.

If you frequently browse the internet, never believe anything is there, such as advertisements in the form of flash and request that you click on these ads, or an ad stating that you are exposed to the virus and asks you to scan your computer online.
Always update your antivirus, can be connected directly as the Internet, or online.

Use operating system other than Windows, like Linux, Solaris, Macintosh (OS X) because the virus in the windows can only work in windows.
Then how kalo our windows computers already infected with the virus? sample taken from a computer virus that has infected, and then through the windows operating system other than that connected to the Internet, open a web page from www.virustotal.com, upload the virus is there, then on the web that your virus samples will be analyzed and you will be advised using antivirus appropriate in order to detect and eradicate the virus, if you want to manually membasminya, you try to search via google and enter a search with guide features virus attacks.

Good luck, and hopefully help.

How to Prevent and Handle New Virus

Posted by admin On August - 28 - 2009

virus-computerAccording to my observations, most of the local viruses infect computers by exploiting autorun function of your computer or disguise itself into the folder / file office / image file extension, but to *. exe (application).

For viruses that infect the autorun techniques, the only way is to eliminate autorun function on our computers. The easiest way is to use the help of software. If you want to try to Donwload here (link below post)

As for viruses that infect by way of “disguising themselves” so one way to prevent it is to “break cover” it.

The main feature of viruses that are disguised Icon looks incompatible with his extension. For example folder, under any circumstances does not have an extension but the folder must have a longer disguised extension *. exe (application). Another example is the MSWord files. Normally, these files were *. doc extension. For example, when yudhicakep.Doc MSWord files infected with the virus will become yudhicakep.exe

Well, to prevent that we do not execute the wrong file, it’s good we just switch the “Extentions file types” it. How, go to Explorer> Tools Menu> Folder Options> View tab. Uncheck the “Hide Extentions for Known File Types”. In this way, Windows will bring up all the extension files in our computer. So, “camouflage” the virus would be very easy to come out.

If you find a virus in disguise, do not try to execution. But direct-Delete it. Obviously the conditions of our computers are not infected.

Then, for my friends who had infected his computer locally, can try this way to recovery.

Well, good luck. Hopefully useful

The process is quite easy – as long as you can follow directions. What you need to do is to go to Start and click on Accessories. From there, click on Tools and that’s where you’ll find the options for defragging your computer, such as Disk Defragmentation and others.

If you are wondering what defragmentation does and why it’s so important in solving your computer’s speed problem: When your computer starts slow, it means your computer system is having difficulty in organizing its contents or files. When you finally decide to defrag your computer, the amount of fragmentation in your computer’s file systems is greatly reduced. As a consequence, the content of the disk becomes more organized and the space more free. Because of the absence of clutter, your computer can then work faster again and you won’t have to get frustrated over having to wait for it to start. Experts say that defragging your computer is the easiest way to solve your computer’s speed problems; it’s the number one computer startup solution.

People usually panic when their computer starts slow. They either think that there computer has been bugged by a serious virus and can no longer be saved or that they should buy the latest software package for computer cleanup and repair right away. While it can get stressful worrying about why your computer starts slow, there is something you can do about it that doesn’t require a great deal of money and effort. The Secret of Digitizing Your Old Photos

Posted by admin On October - 6 - 2008

Do you have a large collection of old photographs taken by traditional cameras? It is then really necessary for you to digitally process all these old photographs and import onto your computer. Otherwise all of the old memories collection would be lost in no time.

It is observed that all the photographs imported from a photo scanner come with a very big size image file. The file is a TIFF file supporting very high quality image resolution and color depth. You may find that your photographs are imported with varying sizes as they might have on actual print. Now it is necessary to resize all those photographs to similar sizes for easy storage and maintenance. I generally prefer to use a free online picture resizer to resize my photo collection. These picture resizing tools make it very easy to resize multiple pictures at once.

An online picture resizer is a free web based service on a website, generally offered with some functionality limitations (picture size limit, file size limit etc.). These tools help you to resize pictures online from wherever you are. It is essentially used by people moving around the world or travelers. You don’t need to have a photo editor on your computer or laptop to resize your pictures.

Before you resize the photographs, you can adjust the brightness, contrast and other properties for each imported old photograph so that they look consistent when viewed as an album or a slideshow. Don’t make pictures too bright or adjust contrast too much otherwise you will lose original picture quality when you resize pictures with an online image resizer.

You should choose the right storage medium for all the imported photographs. I will prefer to store all the photographs on a DVD. This way it becomes portable and durable for longer time. Using portable hard disk is another good way for long term data storage. Hard disks generally require maintenance and protection so choose this option carefully.

Another best way of storing photographs for long term is to use an online storage service provided by websites such as xdrive.com and idrive.com. This service offers more than 2 GB online disk space to store your pictures collection. This kin d of service is useful for periodic backup and long term archival of important data and photographs. Again, please make sure that you have properly resized all of your old picture collection with an online picture resizer tool before uploading it online otherwise it would eat up lot of disk space.

Keeping your old photographs online with a storage services really helps you when you want to share all those good memories with your family members, friends and colleagues located all over the world. You don’t need attach that bulky bunch of old photographs to your e-mail and send it to everybody. You can just send the links of those photographs in your e-mail and send it.

All in all, it is necessary to adjust picture properties of your old photographs and resize them with a free online image resizer which is also available on reshade.com before moving them to a permanent digital storage medium.

The Big Windows Registry Scam

Posted by admin On October - 6 - 2008

Its interesting isn’t it how companies can build in obsolesce into their products? It also interesting how some manufactures can make more money from the cost of maintaining and running a product than they ever do from selling the original product. A classic example of products which make the company no money to begin with but provide income over time is ink cartridges for printers, you buy yourself a cheap printer and then when the ink runs out which it rapidly does you go to buy an ink cartridge and it cost you as much as the printer. You still buy it though as it far too much bother to change your printer for another cheap one and be caught out again.

Returning to the subject of built in obsolescence, this is less of a problem than it used to be when it comes to things such as white goods and other solid products. The reason for this is that manufactures are obliged to supply parts for these products seven years after they stop making them so repair is often now a real option. The area where built in obsolesce really does seem to still be a problem is that of software and in particular Microsoft Windows. The problem that Microsoft and probably a lot of hardware manufacturers have is that most people never use their computer to its full potential so although you can keep making better and better computers most people will never feel the need to upgrade. The most common activities carried out on computers are word processing and surfing the web, neither of which put a tremendous strain on the computer so why would you need to upgrade? And if you don’t upgrade, well guess what they don’t sell any computers and Microsoft don’t sell any copies of its latest operating system. So they Microsoft and the computer manufacturers get round the problem by building in obsolescence.

The first and probably most effective way in which they do this is that they encourage people making software to make it incompatible with older version of windows and older computers. At lot of the time the software being released has been built to put a strain on older systems even though it is often totally unnecessary for it to do so. The second and most shocking way in which the likes of Microsoft force you to spend more money and change your computer is that programs like Microsoft windows slowly decay over time until they become unworkable, with the computer running slowly and regularly crashing. Most people when their old computer starts to slow down and go wrong assume that the computer is no longer up to the job and go and buy a new one. You do not need to buy a new computer you need to repair the windows registry. What’s the Windows Registry you ask? Well it’s a directory of all the programs and files that are stored by your computer. As you add and remove programs this registry becomes corrupted and your computer starts to run poorly, this problem can be easily fixed with a windows registry error repair tool so don’t buy a new computer make the one you have already run like new again.
